You may remember the prophet Joe Biden, on October 20, 2008, predicting that if Obama were elected he "would be tested in the first six months by a foreign power." Considering that Obama had less executive experience than Sarah Palin, who by then had been the governor of Alaska for two years but was being trashed in the media for not having the necessary experience, Biden's gaffe prediction was a major argument against Obama's election. Many of us made that argument, but to no avail.
After his election Obama apparently tried to preempt any such testing by making an apology tour across Europe and the Middle East to placate Muslims world-wide. By bowing to foreign leaders and showing his good faith he was going to bring Iran to the negotiating table and end their nuclear ambitions. Two years ago when a popular uprising had a chance to bring Democratic reforms to Iran, Obama sat silent while the government brutally put down the protests.
In March of last year when the Arab Spring erupted across North Africa, Obama dumped a long time ally in Egypt, Hosni Mubarrak, for an unruly mob led by the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood. Then when the mobs rose up against Moammar Khaddafi, Obama stood by while several NATO nations began helping the rebels with a bombing campaign. Only when it became obvious that Khaddafi was losing did Obama enter the fray. Leading from behind, he praised the Arab Spring for bringing democracy to the Muslim nations.
Obama's foreign policy has been an abject failure. The Muslim world has not responded positively to his open armed apologies. Just the opposite. His apologies and rewriting of American history to suggest that Muslims helped build the United States, project an image of weakness, and has emboldened our terrorist enemies. America is still hated by Islamic governments, who take billions of foreign aid from the United States and curse us at the same time. Nicholas Sarkozi, France's former Prime Minister, publicly stated that Obama was not very influential, an observation that is becoming increasingly obvious.
Now Obama's leadership ability is being tested at a level he has not yet seen, and doesn't seem to yet understand. US embassies in Cairo, Egypt, in Sana'a, Yemen, and the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, have been overrun by mobs, and four Americans in Libya, including the US ambassador, have been killed. These are acts of war. These are acts that require a strong response if America is to be taken seriously anywhere in the world.
How did Obama react? He sat in silence saying nothing for hours. Then somebody in the US diplomatic mission in Egypt put out a statement apologizing for the Youtube video criticizing Mohammed, which supposedly sparked this uprising, even though hardly anybody has seen it. The statement stood for nine hours until criticism became so harsh that the administration had to "walk it back."
This is not administration policy, we are told. Some low level employee at the embassy in Cairo made the unauthorized statement, but just like the removal of God and Jerusalem from the Democrat platform, who made the statement or where it originated is unknown. The president himself, not realizing the urgency of the situation, finally made a comment at a Las Vegas, Nevada campaign stop. Taking a page from Clinton before him, he promised that those who had killed the Americans would be held accountable. Then after about ninety seconds of toothless threats, he went back to campaigning.
If there was ever an example of ineptitude and incompetence, this is it. American sovereignty is invaded, Americans are killed, and Obama apologizes and continues campaigning. Does anybody see what's wrong with this picture?
This is weakness ala Jimmy Carter and the Iranian takeover of the US embassy in Tehran in 1979. Could it be that this will translate into another Reaganesque defeat of liberal incompetence in November? Let us hope so.

An Exceptional Mother
I am proud to post on American Flyer the following from my cousin's daughter, Marisha. Simple and concise, in a nutshell this is one of the finest things I've ever read on parenting. It should be a mandatory lesson for every child starting the first grade. Consider also that Marisha suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and you'll understand why her accomplishment is not only admirable, it is exceptional. My hat's off. Thank you, Marisha.
"I always had many chores growing up. One of my summer chores was to help my mother grow vegetables. She would wake me up early and we'd put in many hours preparing the soil, making rows, planting seeds, weeding the beds and then harvesting of course. It never really bothered me until I became a teenager. I can still hear myself mouthing off to my mother, "why do I have to waste my time with this, it's not like I'm going to grow up and be a farmer!" I was partially right, I didn't become a "farmer". However this spring Justin and I set out to grow our own veggies. As we prepared the soil I dug my hands deep into the earth and with great confidence made rows and showed my son how to plant the seeds. Our crops were impressive, especially since we were limited in space. We didn't have to buy produce all summer and we had salad every night. I realize now that my mother had not just taught me how to grow vegetables, she had shown me the value of self-sufficiency which has endless possibilities. It was one of the most valuable lessons I've ever learned."

Go Ahead ...
At the beginning of the Republican convention last week Glenn Beck had taken some days off from his radio program at about the same time it was announced there would be a mystery guest speaker on Thursday night. The guest hosts were speculating about whether or not the mystery speaker would be Glenn Beck, and were taking calls to hear what their listeners thought. One woman guessed Clint Eastwood. I thought that would be an interesting twist, but didn't really think it would happen.
Lo, and behold!
I was never a real big fan of Clint Eastwood. We watched Rawhide when I was growing up, but for me, the name Clint meant the big guy on another western, Cheyenne. Clint Walker was my first TV cowboy hero, and today he is still my favorite.
My brother, Randall, met Clint Walker in Branson, Missouri a few years ago, and got me an autographed poster and a set of the first year of Cheyenne on dvd. Randall works in the entertainment business and had a chance to talk with Walker for awhile. He encouraged Randall to keep his performances clean and family oriented, which certainly struck a chord with me. Walker is very conservative with deep religious beliefs, and it shows in his work. He often encouraged people to read the Bible in his Cheyenne series, and there are no better family oriented films than Night of the Grizzly and Baker's Hawk.
Unfortunately, by the end of the 1960's Clint Walker's star was already fading, but the other Clint in Hollywood was on the rise. Rawhide had brought Eastwood to the viewing public's attention, but he had second billing on the program, and when the show's lead actor, Eric Fleming, drowned, Eastwood was unable to carry the program on his own and it went off the air. Then he went to Europe.
Spaghetti westerns made Eastwood a star. The no-name-silent-tough-guy image resonated with audiences and by the time he took on the Dirty Harry roles he was a superstar and one of the top Hollywood draws. He's made some great western movies, Pale Rider, a mysterious remake of Shane, immediately comes to mind. The Dirty Harry movies gave us some terrific one-liners like, "Well do ya, punk?" and of course, "Go ahead, make my day." But his films are so full of bad language, and "gratuitous sex" in the later movies, that I can't let my children watch them (I don't either, by the way), which is really a sad commentary on what the movie industry deems is needed to make a hit film.
Eastwood himself is a good, believable actor. The bold, confident resolve in his roles exudes a type of character most men would probably like to emulate. But the last night of the Republican convention may have been Eastwood's finest performance. The enthusiasm of the crowd was electrifying when he stepped out on the stage. Then his stuttering delivery and mocking of Obama with the empty chair brought the house down.
Commentators kept referring to his ad lib performance, but at first I didn't think it was. It was too well done to have not been thought through ahead of time. But in an interview with his home town newspaper, The Carmel Pine Cone, he said he had roughed out an outline of what to say, but the chair came to him as he was backstage just 15 minutes before he was to go on. My guess would have been that he had practiced that performance to perfection, but his improvisation was still the perfect performance and proves that he is a very talented star and a consummate actor.
And yes, he made my day. Now if he would just clean up his movies a little bit.

The DNC: Same ol' same ol
Anybody who is paying attention could have scripted the first night of the Democratic National Convention. We heard nothing new, just the same old broken record about women's health rights, gay rights, the brilliance of obamacare, and how much Barack cares for everybody, with the added twist of Michelle Obama's speech about what a great American her husband is.
It started with the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Deborah Wasserman-Shultz opening the convention talking about bringing change to America. Change was the promise, along with hope, four years ago, but all the change we've seen has been bad. Gasoline prices are two dollars higher than when Obama took over, the unemployment rate has been as high as 10.2%, and has hung at 8.1% or higher for 42 months, and the deficit just topped 16 trillion dollars. And Shultz is still talking about change. What we need is to change what Obama is doing!
There were some very interesting speakers on the agenda. One Democrat Representative from Colorado, Polis, boasted that Obama had taken no money from special interest groups. Let's see; Obama promised not to have any former lobbyists in his administration, but since many of those lobbies had actually contributed to his campaign, he filled his administration with former lobbyists. So what we got from Polis was a distortion, if not a flat out lie.
Kathleen Sibelius, head of the Department of Health and Human Services, and former failed governor of Kansas, got up to talk of her father's efforts to pass Medicare for Lyndon Johnson in 1964, and boasted that she was following his lead in standing up for women's health rights, a theme we would continue to hear the whole night. Evil Republicans are against contraception, but Democrats believe a woman has the right to make her own health care choices. In other words, abortion on demand paid for by all taxpayers no matter what their religious beliefs are.
By the way, Republicans are not at war with women, and we are not against contraception, we just don't think we need to pay for everybody else's condoms. We are against abortion on demand, and against anyone that forces us to pay for it.
She accused Republicans and Ryan's budget plan of destroying Medicare while Obama saved it. She forgot to mention that obamacare took 716 billion dollars out of Medicare to pay for itself, leaving those on Medicare with three-quarters of a billion dollars less funds available for their needs. Obamacare is already a success, she said, because millions of people received $500 back from insurance companies that weren't complying with some regulation. Put that in perspective. Those $500 were not savings generated by obamacare. They were fines issued by an administration bordering on dictatorship.
They paraded a woman army captain across the stage who had lost both legs when her helicopter was shot down in Iraq. She has my respect for her service and bravery and the sacrifice she has made. But she got my ire up when she claimed to have proven that women can do anything as well as any man. Male-female class warfare? This is supposed to be unifying?
I don't know about the army, but when I was in Naval Aviation, about 50% of all who started flight school washed out. Of those who got into the jet pipeline about 20% would wash out. Of the women who got into the jet pipeline, none ever washed out. I was in a squadron in the Philippines that was non-combat arms, so we had a lot of women pilots. I can tell you from personal experience as a NATOPS check flight pilot, that most of those women wouldn't have been there if they were men. There were some good female pilots, but their 100% success rate in flight school was a politically correct creation, not an example of their ability.
Having said that, I'll honor this woman for her patriotism, but not for her politics. She praised Obama for listening to military leaders who have long said homosexuals ought to be allowed to serve openly. They weren't saying that when I was in, they were mostly opposed to Clinton enacting "Don't ask don't tell" because the system of not allowing gays had always worked well before that. Military leadership was not in favor of this change either, and reports four years ago showed most of them against it. Unfortunately we have a Joint Chiefs of Staff filled with political yes men who don't have the guts to stand up to the foolish destructive policies of the president.
The left is quick to compare conservatives with Nazis. I'll give you a real Nazi comparison. In the 1930's Wilhelm Keitel, the head of the Wehrmacht, as well as most of the German military leadership, didn't have the courage to stand up to Hitler's megalomania and they followed him to their own destruction. That's where our military leadership in Washington is today.
The woman captain finished her speech saying Obama "will never ignore our soldiers." The speech drew throngs of cheers and applause from people who mostly have never served and have no idea what's going on with the military. Obama is gutting the military in personnel and funding, and has publicly stated he thinks the military should pay for its own medical care! And now his Justice Department has sued Ohio to prevent military personnel from that State from having extra time to vote when they are overseas.
Yeah, he really cares about the military. Fortunately the soldiers at Ft. Bliss weren't fooled Monday when Obama spoke to them. They sat in cold silence as Obama spoke once again taking credit for killing bin Laden.
They watched two videos at the convention last night. One, supposedly a tribute to Ted Kennedy, spent more time attacking Romney than praising Kennedy. The other was a greeting from the biggest losing incumbent president in history, Jimmy Carter.
Carter spoke of integrity and trust. He said after watching Obama that he believes he has integrity, that he knows why and who he serves. He talked about America's reputation being restored and dialogue with trust possible around the world. He said Obama had accomplished all of this in spite of unprecedented opposition, and that he stood for the right policies for the right reasons.
I could go on all night on this one, but briefly: Obama is a more consummate liar than Bill Clinton. Example? He told us obamacare would not cover abortion. It does. If that were the only lie he has told it would be enough, but it's so bad you can't trust a single word out of his mouth. So much for integrity.
Obama obviously does not know why he serves since he's played 104 rounds of golf in three and a half years, nor does he know he's there to serve us. He has issued scores of executive orders cramming his agenda down our throats, unconstitutionally by-passing Congress. He has sued several states to prevent them from arresting illegal aliens. It seems he's more concerned with illegals than American citizens. Our reputation around the world is a paper tiger. We can't even get Iran to talk, much less join a dialogue and they're about to get a nuclear weapon. Unprecedented opposition? Ronald Reagan and both Bushes had more opposition than Obama ever had, including the left wing press which is in Obama's pocket. No, Carter's speech when examined was not a rousing endorsement, it was an indictment.
Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, shouting at the top of his lungs, said if a person is healthy and willing to work and to play by the rules, he should be able to get a job. Exactly! That's the whole point. There are 23 million Americans who can't find a job. That's Obama's fault and that's why he needs to go!
The Democrats' token hispanic speaker, Julian Castro, got up to demonize what he called "trickle down, supply side, Romney-Ryan, or Ryan-Romney" economics. They have never worked, he said. His speech was nothing more than Obama blather warmed over. We've been hearing this ad nauseum for the last four years.
This is a common Democrat strategy. Don't examine the facts, just lie about them loud enough and long enough until every non-thinking person believes you. Say, that was Hitler's strategy too!
The fact is, tax and spend bigger government is what Jimmy Carter gave us. It didn't work. Trickle down, supply-side, smaller government is what Ronald Reagan gave us. It led to the longest peacetime expansion of the US economy in history. It ended when George H.W. Bush broke his promise and raised taxes. Clinton was already headed for defeat in 1996 for his tax raising and big government spending ideas, when the Republican Revolution of 1994 turned the economy around with tax cuts and reduced spending. Clinton changed his ways, became a supply-sider, claimed credit for the economic turnaround, and coasted into reelection.
After four years of surpluses, Clinton left office with the economy falling into a recession. I'm not an economic expert, but I think the reason was that Alan Greenspan, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, refused to restrict the money flow by raising interest rates and created an economic bubble that burst just as Bush was elected.
W. Bush then was faced with 9/11 and the War on Terror, but his tax cuts in 2002 led to a recovery of the economy. Bush, however, using the war as an excuse, really betrayed conservative Republican fiscal principles and failed to cut spending. When the Democrats won control of Congress in 2006 he refused to do anything to control the spending and the two largest deficits of his administration took place in his last two years. Then, as the country headed into another recession, he implemented the TARP bailout, a socialist government takeover of the economy, not much different than Obama's stimulus package less than a year later.
The economic truth is, every time the government has cut taxes across the board and reduced spending, which is trickle-down, supply-side, the economy has soared. Every time taxes have been raised and spending unchecked and government expanded, the economy has tanked. The record is there for anybody to see, but Democrats turn the Reagan years around by calling them the Decade of Greed, and greedy people who want a bigger slice of the government pie (which always leads to less freedom!) fall for the lie every time.
If the Republicans were smart, they wouldn't run from the accusations that it's Bush's fault. They'd acknowledge his betrayal and say, Yes, Bush betrayed the Republican ideal of fiscal responsibility and joined the Democrats in control of Congress in overspending and causing the recession. To that extent it's Bush's fault, but Bush isn't here anymore and continuing those Democrat policies that Bush joined has only made our economic situation worse.
It will be interesting to see what Bill Clinton has to say tonight. His administration had an unemployment rate of under five percent and four straight years of budget surpluses, all thanks to trickle-down Reaganomics. He's got a tricky task ahead to convince the country to continue the policies that have led to the economic disaster we are in, policies that he rejected when he was president.
The night ended with Michelle Obama praising her husband. It was a great delivery, much better than her husband has ever done. She said, "Barack knows about the American dream because he's lived it."
If that's true, why is he trying to take away from everybody else the opportunity to live the same dream? Or is it that he hasn't really lived the dream? He grew up in Indonesia dirt poor and somehow went to Harvard Law School. He didn't work for anything, somebody else gave it to him, just like they gave him his Nobel Prize for doing nothing. He never worked for anything in his life. Radical socialists, including Saul Alinksy, got him where he is today, and now he wants to force their socialism on the rest of us. Why? So we can all be dirt poor like he was. I got news for you, Michelle. Ronald Reagan, the one your husband likes to compare himself with, had a different idea about the American dream.

Is it significant that the Democrats have removed all mention of God from their platform? What we've seen so far is not much different than what the Democrats gave us under Walter Mondale in 1984. He has issued scores of executive orders cramming his agenda down our throats, unconstitutionally by-passing Congress. He has sued several states to prevent them from arresting illegal aliens. It seems he's more concerned with illegals than American citizens. Our reputation around the world is a paper tiger. We can't even get Iran to talk, much less join a dialogue and they're about to get a nuclear weapon. Unprecedented opposition? Ronald Reagan and both Bushes had more opposition than Obama ever had, including the left wing press which is in Obama's pocket. No, Carter's speech when examined was not a rousing endorsement, it was an indictment.
Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, shouting at the top of his lungs, said if a person is healthy and willing to work and to play by the rules, he should be able to get a job. Exactly! That's the whole point. There are 23 million Americans who can't find a job. That's Obama's fault and that's why he needs to go!
The Democrats' token hispanic speaker, Julian Castro, got up to demonize what he called "trickle down, supply side, Romney-Ryan, or Ryan-Romney" economics. They have never worked, he said. His speech was nothing more than Obama blather warmed over. We've been hearing this ad nauseum for the last four years.
This is a common Democrat strategy. Don't examine the facts, just lie about them loud enough and long enough until every non-thinking person believes you. Say, that was Hitler's strategy too!
The fact is, tax and spend bigger government is what Jimmy Carter gave us. It didn't work. Trickle down, supply-side, smaller government is what Ronald Reagan gave us. It led to the longest peacetime expansion of the US economy in history. It ended when George H.W. Bush broke his promise and raised taxes. Clinton was already headed for defeat in 1996 for his tax raising and big government spending ideas, when the Republican Revolution of 1994 turned the economy around with tax cuts and reduced spending. Clinton changed his ways, became a supply-sider, claimed credit for the economic turnaround, and coasted into reelection.
After four years of surpluses, Clinton left office with the economy falling into a recession. I'm not an economic expert, but I think the reason was that Alan Greenspan, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, refused to restrict the money flow by raising interest rates and created an economic bubble that burst just as Bush was elected.
W. Bush then was faced with 9/11 and the War on Terror, but his tax cuts in 2002 led to a recovery of the economy. Bush, however, using the war as an excuse, really betrayed conservative Republican fiscal principles and failed to cut spending. When the Democrats won control of Congress in 2006 he refused to do anything to control the spending and the two largest deficits of his administration took place in his last two years. Then, as the country headed into another recession, he implemented the TARP bailout, a socialist government takeover of the economy, not much different than Obama's stimulus package less than a year later.
The economic truth is, every time the government has cut taxes across the board and reduced spending, which is trickle-down, supply-side, the economy has soared. Every time taxes have been raised and spending unchecked and government expanded, the economy has tanked. The record is there for anybody to see, but Democrats turn the Reagan years around by calling them the Decade of Greed, and greedy people who want a bigger slice of the government pie (which always leads to less freedom!) fall for the lie every time.
If the Republicans were smart, they wouldn't run from the accusations that it's Bush's fault. They'd acknowledge his betrayal and say, Yes, Bush betrayed the Republican ideal of fiscal responsibility and joined the Democrats in control of Congress in overspending and causing the recession. To that extent it's Bush's fault, but Bush isn't here anymore and continuing those Democrat policies that Bush joined has only made our economic situation worse.
It will be interesting to see what Bill Clinton has to say tonight. His administration had an unemployment rate of under five percent and four straight years of budget surpluses, all thanks to trickle-down Reaganomics. He's got a tricky task ahead to convince the country to continue the policies that have led to the economic disaster we are in, policies that he rejected when he was president.
The night ended with Michelle Obama praising her husband. It was a great delivery, much better than her husband has ever done. She said, "Barack knows about the American dream because he's lived it."
If that's true, why is he trying to take away from everybody else the opportunity to live the same dream? Or is it that he hasn't really lived the dream? He grew up in Indonesia dirt poor and somehow went to Harvard Law School. He didn't work for anything, somebody else gave it to him, just like they gave him his Nobel Prize for doing nothing. He never worked for anything in his life. Radical socialists, including Saul Alinksy, got him where he is today, and now he wants to force their socialism on the rest of us. Why? So we can all be dirt poor like he was. I got news for you, Michelle. Ronald Reagan, the one your husband likes to compare himself with, had a different idea about the American dream.

Is it significant that the Democrats have removed all mention of God from their platform? What we've seen so far is not much different than what the Democrats gave us under Walter Mondale in 1984. The difference is that in 1984 the country wasn't ungodly enough to accept it. The question now is, have we become ungodly enough?

Two Extraordinary Men
Yesterday two extraordinary men passed from this life. One you've probably heard of. He was world renowned and will be remembered for all time for one singular event, although his achievements were many. The other was also known world wide, although in smaller circles, but his accomplishments were every bit as important, and in an eternal perspective, they were much greater.
On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong took "one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind," and became the first person to walk on the moon. That step was more than just another page in the long story of exploration. It was the culmination of every journey, every step into the unknown, every quest for knowledge and advancement in the history of the world up to that time, and remains man's greatest achievement.
Armstrong was born to fly. At age 16 he had a pilot's license before he could drive. At the young age of 20 he flew 78 combat missions over Korea. Then he was one of the first to skirt the edge of space in the X-15 rocket. Quiet and unassuming, he was a the ideal of cool and collected. When test piloting the lunar lander, the craft went out of control and he ejected less than a hundred feet from the ground. A short time later he was briefing to go on another flight as if nothing had happened. He was commander of the Gemini 8 mission that performed the first space docking of two aircraft. When a stuck thruster on his capsule sent the craft spinning out of control, he calmly handled the emergency, regained control of the aircraft and brought it safely to a Pacific Ocean landing east of Okinawa.
His finest moment, however, had to be the landing of the lunar module on the moon. The proposed landing site was strewn with boulders, and Armstrong skillfully maneuvered the lander to a clear spot and touched down with only 15 seconds of fuel remaining. "Houston," he called, "The Eagle has landed." The world, weary from war and unrest, for one moment rejoiced together and watched with great anticipation as Armstrong and his co-pilot, Buzz Aldrin, walked on the lunar surface.
Armstrong, not interested in notoriety, quietly bowed out of the lime light and made another name for himself as an educator. He rarely gave interviews or participated in public celebrations of his moon landing, but he should be remembered as the quintessential gentleman hero, a man every boy should look up to and even aspire to be like.
The second was every bit as much an example for boys, young and old, to admire and look up to. He gave his heart to the Gospel ministry as a teenager and spent his life sharing and sending the Gospel world wide. He was one, of what I like to call, the Great Spiritual Triumvirate, that came out of the First Baptist Church of Englewood, Colorado. Three teenage boys, Clifford Clark, Carl Boonstra, and Al Wells, best friends all, sat under the preaching of a "fire and brimstone" preacher named Harvey Springer, and went out from there to win the world.
Al Wells became an evangelist and preached until the Lord called him home a few years ago. Carl Boonstra served as Springer's associate, then started his own church, and in 1972 became the Missions Director for the Baptist Bible Fellowship, International. At age 87 he is still active, preaching nearly every Sunday.
Clifford Clark built the huge Tulsa Baptist Temple and introduced to the BBFI a method of missions giving known as Faith Promise. Scores of young people from his church, including one of his own sons, went to the mission field, and millions of dollars were raised through Faith Promise to take the Gospel to the farthest reaches of the earth. Tulsa Baptist Temple was the sending church for one of Africa's greatest missionaries, Elmer Deal, and for Rachel Saint, whose brother, Nate, was martyred along with four others by Indians in Ecuador in 1956. Rachel spent the last thirty-six years of her life winning those same people to the Lord.
Clark was also a very humble man, never seeking fame or notoriety, yet he became a giant among the 4,500 churches of the BBFI, as well as hundreds of other churches across the United States and world wide. His influence has inspired tens of thousands and brought many more to faith in Christ. Yesterday his journey came to an end. He fought a good fight, he ran his course well, he kept the faith, and now he has entered the joy of the Lord.

Life
When the US Supreme Court ruled in 1973 that a woman has a right to abortion, it added a disclaimer saying that if it could ever be positively proven that the fetus in the womb is alive, that would overturn the decision.
Medical science and the development of ultra sound imaging in the 1980's have pretty well proven that the fetus is a living being capable of hearing and feeling pain. Any woman who has ever carried a child to term knows when that child is moving around and kicking that it is very much alive, but those in favor of abortion never tire of asking the question about when life begins.
The basic answer is simply this. When a sperm and an egg unite to form a zygote, within moments the cell begins dividing and growing. Only living things divide and grow. Whether it is viable or able to survive outside the womb is not the issue. It is alive from conception.
When my wife was struggling with a very difficult pregnancy with our last son, she was having ultra sounds done every other day during a hospital stay and then every month. At nine weeks we saw the baby, nothing more than a blob with little stubs beginning to form, but with a beating heart that we could see and hear. As the months went by we were able to watch him grow through the various stages of development. We were limited, being in Kenya, to older technology and could see little more than the skeletal structure and fuzzy images, but a more beautiful thing I have never seen.
My wife's cousin is carrying her third child and just had an ultra sound. The image of her little girl is so clear you can make out all of her facial features. Photos show the baby holding her foot, scratching her nose, and yawning.
This little child in the womb is alive and deserves the right to live, yet little babies just like this one are aborted at a rate of 4,000 per day in the United States. One has to wonder how anyone could become so cold, calloused, and uncaring as to murder a living being just because it is in the womb and an inconvenience to the mother or the father or both. I've known people who shed tears over cruelty to animals, but couldn't care less about a baby being ripped apart, or having its skull smashed by a partial birth abortion just moments before it would be ruled murder. Abortion should qualify as the most heinous, hate crime that there is.
Leftists long ago took over the Democrat Party and turned it into a platform for atheism, perversion, and self-indulgence. By packing the courts with radical leftwing ideologues they've turned the meaning of "separation of church and state" on its head in order to remove any Christian or moral influence from our government and public life. They've defied the bi-partisan Defense of Marriage Act in favor of gay marriage. They've made abortion a litmus test for justices and candidates, and they denounce everyone who opposes them as being full of hate.
And now, just when it looks like the Democrats couldn't get any more wicked, they have sunk to a new low. Wednesday they announced they are going to make the Democrat Convention a celebration of abortion. A celebration of the act of ending innocent life! A celebration of the destruction on demand of little faces like the one in this picture. They accuse Republicans of "waging a war on women," which is a slanderous lie, while they are waging a war on helpless babies. There is nothing they could do that is any more despicable, detestable, defiled, or depraved.
We hear from conservative talk radio and elsewhere that the coming election will be the most vital in American history because the Obama machine with its trillion dollar deficits and the obamacare reinvention of medical coverage, if allowed to continue, will drive the country into bankruptcy. But this election is about more than economics. It's about the moral fabric of our culture. It's about the character of the American soul. It's about the sanctity of life. It's about the judgment of God hanging over America like Damocles' sword.
If we don't turn Obama and his godless minions out in November that sword will fall. The blood of fifty-five million aborted babies cries out for justice, and like Jefferson, I "tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep forever." I also tremble for anyone calling himself a "Christian" who would have so little Christian principle as to vote for Obama. You cannot be right with God and vote for the wanton, reckless, destruction of babies.
This election is a referendum on life and death. Vote PRO-LIFE.

Who Should be Taken Seriously?
A group of former Navy Seals has produced a video highly critical of the president for the shameless way he has taken credit for the killing of bin Laden. Much as like the "Swift Boaters" of 2004, the Press has criticized the Seals' efforts. Obama's response was that he doesn't take them seriously.
The truth of the matter is, Obama doesn't take anybody seriously. Neither does he take the Constitution or the rule of law seriously. He is bound and determined, as all liberals are, to force his agenda on everybody whether they want it or not. He seems to have forgotten, along with all the other American history he has forgotten, that the battle cry of the Revolution was "No taxation without representation."
He has decided that he will force Obamacare down our throats even though two-thirds of the country want it repealed. A percentage that high means even Democrats are against it. The House has already voted to overturn it, and a federal judge ordered it's implementation halted, but Obama has defied the court, the House, and the will of the people to begin installing the system. When the Catholic Church objected to having to pay for Obama's insurance plan that mandates covering abortions, he basically thumbed his nose at them and said they had to comply. Oh, I forgot, Kathleen Sibelius said that, Obama's nose is clean.
Actually it's not. Obama promised before the Affordable Health Care Act (a terrible misnomer) was passed that it wouldn't cover abortions. He lied. He also said it wouldn't raise taxes, but thanks to the conservative betrayal of Chief Justice Roberts, the only way the unconstitutional mandate in Obamacare is constitutional, is if it is a tax. There are in fact 18 taxes that will be hitting us in the next year if Obamacare is fully implemented. But no sooner had Roberts released his decision upholding the act, than Obama contradicted him and said it was not a tax. In that case, it's unconstitutional, but Obama doesn't take that seriously.
Obama doesn't take marriage seriously. Even though several states as well as Congress have passed laws defining marriage as one man and one woman, the president has by dictatorial decree abolished the Defense of Marriage Act. He even called it "unconstitutional," as if he alone knows more than the US Supreme Court and all of Congress. This is an arrogance that is tyrannical.
He doesn't take welfare reform seriously. He again, single-handedly by decree, overturned the bi-partisan Welfare Reform Act signed into law by Bill Clinton, basically undoing everything that had been set up to help welfare recipients find work. Then he lied in an interview and said he hadn't done it. All of this with Bill Clinton scheduled to give a keynote speech at the Democratic Convention. It would be interesting to know what Clinton really thinks about that.
Obama doesn't take the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry seriously either. With a scandal brewing that is bigger than Watergate ever thought of becoming, Obama claims executive privilege to protect Eric Holder and probably himself as well, and files lawsuits against States that take any action to protect themselves from the invasion of illegal aliens.
The Press was all over Nixon for Watergate, and all over Reagan for Guns for Hostages, even though nothing was found to implicate Reagan. Where are they now? An agent is dead, other people have been killed along the border as well, the scandal involved probably goes all the wait to POTUS, but the MSM doesn't take any of it seriously. The sold-their-souls-to-Democrat-leftism MSM doesn't care unless it is a gaffe by a Republican.
Remember Dan Quayle misspelling "potato?" (He was actually set up. He was handed a card with the word spelled "potatoe," so that when he corrected the child's spelling he actually read the error provided him.) There was no end of the criticism for the "child" Quayle who couldn't spell potato. Guess what word Obama misspelled this week? In a stump speech given in Ohio, he verbally spelled the state, "Oiho." Hear anything about that on the news?
Now Todd Akin, running for the Missouri Senate seat held by radical leftist Claire McCaskill, has blundered making some non-sensical statement about rape. You would think he had raped somebody himself the way the media has jumped all over it. Leaders of his own party along with Sean Hannity have all asked him to drop out of the race, and the media is having a field day with it. Where's the criticism from the left over Biden's hateful, racist remarks?
There is something else the MSM seems to have forgotten. Back in 2008, McCain campaigned saying that he was the guy that would get bin-Laden. At a stop somewhere Obama came back with the comment that it wasn't that important that they actually get bin-Laden as long as they could keep al Qaeda in check. But when the Seal Team finally got bin-Laden it was another story. Then megalomaniac Obama was quick to let everyone know he had authorized it, he had directed it, he had practically pulled the trigger.
I would say that we shouldn't take Obama seriously, except that we had better. His Saul Alinsky Marxist tactics are closer to Hitler's Nazi agenda than anything we've seen in this country. He is step by step dismantling the Constitution, taking over the economy, and mandating our lifestyle. He is assuming powers not granted nor ever intended by the Founders of our country. If he is re-elected there will be nothing to stop him from grabbing more and taking more of our freedoms away. Obama needs to be taken so seriously that the country rallies to Romney/Ryan and votes him out by a landslide so overwhelming that the Democrats won't be able to try and steal the election with hanging chads and endless recounts.
Once he's gone we won't have to worry about taking him seriously anymore, but the challenge is before us. This is going to be the most critical election in our history, and we must work harder than ever before to vote in the Republican candidate.

Obama doesn't take the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry seriously either. With a scandal brewing that is bigger than Watergate ever thought of becoming, Obama claims executive privilege to protect Eric Holder and probably himself as well, and files lawsuits against States that take any action to protect themselves from the invasion of illegal aliens.
The Press was all over Nixon for Watergate, and all over Reagan for Guns for Hostages, even though nothing was found to implicate Reagan. Where are they now? An agent is dead, other people have been killed along the border as well, the scandal involved probably goes all the wait to POTUS, but the MSM doesn't take any of it seriously. The sold-their-souls-to-Democrat-leftism MSM doesn't care unless it is a gaffe by a Republican.
Remember Dan Quayle misspelling "potato?" (He was actually set up. He was handed a card with the word spelled "potatoe," so that when he corrected the child's spelling he actually read the error provided him.) There was no end of the criticism for the "child" Quayle who couldn't spell potato. Guess what word Obama misspelled this week? In a stump speech given in Ohio, he verbally spelled the state, "Oiho." Hear anything about that on the news?
Now Todd Akin, running for the Missouri Senate seat held by radical leftist Claire McCaskill, has blundered making some non-sensical statement about rape. You would think he had raped somebody himself the way the media has jumped all over it. Leaders of his own party along with Sean Hannity have all asked him to drop out of the race, and the media is having a field day with it. Where's the criticism from the left over Biden's hateful, racist remarks?
There is something else the MSM seems to have forgotten. Back in 2008, McCain campaigned saying that he was the guy that would get bin-Laden. At a stop somewhere Obama came back with the comment that it wasn't that important that they actually get bin-Laden as long as they could keep al Qaeda in check. But when the Seal Team finally got bin-Laden it was another story. Then megalomaniac Obama was quick to let everyone know he had authorized it, he had directed it, he had practically pulled the trigger.
I would say that we shouldn't take Obama seriously, except that we had better. His Saul Alinsky Marxist tactics are closer to Hitler's Nazi agenda than anything we've seen in this country. He is step by step dismantling the Constitution, taking over the economy, and mandating our lifestyle. He is assuming powers not granted nor ever intended by the Founders of our country. If he is re-elected there will be nothing to stop him from grabbing more and taking more of our freedoms away. Obama needs to be taken so seriously that the country rallies to Romney/Ryan and votes him out by a landslide so overwhelming that the Democrats won't be able to try and steal the election with hanging chads and endless recounts.
Once he's gone we won't have to worry about taking him seriously anymore, but the challenge is before us. This is going to be the most critical election in our history, and we must work harder than ever before to vote in the Republican candidate.

The Triumphant Savior
Perhaps sensing he is losing his "messiahship" after failing to host the Annual Easter Prayer Breakfast at the White House the last three years, this week Obama finally held one. It would have been enough to know that he had hosted the event instead of criticizing it as he has done in the past, but apparently feeling the need to sound spiritual, or even presidential, he decided to teach the clergy something about Christ. Something he apparently knows very little about.
I find it interesting how many on the Left, those who are against the Bible being taught in public schools, against Christian prayers being offered in the public square, who don't believe in the inspiration of Scripture, the creation, the flood, the deity of Christ, the virgin birth or the resurrection, find it necessary to try to instruct those who do what Christianity is all about, especially when an election year comes around.
Bill Clinton was notorious for quoting Scripture whenever it served his purpose, usually to deflect attention away from his dalliances. To be fair Obama should be commended for finally holding the event, but he would have done well to limit his comments to some introductory remarks and let the clergymen present lecture him about Christ and the meaning of the resurrection. His speech exposed a very serious lack of understanding of not only the resurrection, but of Christ.
"For like us, Jesus knew doubt," Obama said. "Like us, Jesus knew fear." To say that Christ had doubts and fear suggests that Obama got his theological training from Martin Scorsesi's "The Last Temptation of Christ." Jesus was not just "a Son of God," as Obama also said, He was the only begotten Son of God. He was God come in the flesh. He is eternal God from eternity past before the creation and always will be eternal God. Jesus was the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Rev. 13:8).
The cross was not an accident or a failure, it was the plan of God from before Genesis 1:1. Christ knew before He created the universe that His plan was the cross, that His purpose was the redemption of man. He had no doubts and He had no fear. By attributing these human frailties to Christ, Obama has demeaned His deity and brought Him down to the level of weak and sinful man.
Obama went on to say, "And yet, in the end, he confronted his fear with words of humble surrender, saying, 'If it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.'"
Obama followed the tack often taken by unbelievers and liberal theologians of taking a verse from the Bible and then misinterpreting or misapplying it. In this case he quotes from Christ's prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matt. 26:39, Luke 22:42) and completely misses the point. Christ didn't confront fear in the Garden. He confronted the sins of the entire world knowing that the burden He bore would in a little while cause the Father to turn His back on the Son for three hours while He hung on the cross. It would be the only time in history or eternity that God the Son would be separated from God the Father and the Holy Spirit. It was a burden so great, a weight so heavy, that no anguish we could ever suffer could even begin to compare with the agony Jesus went through in the Garden as He prepared for the crucifixion.
There was more to His suffering than just the beating, the scourging, and the nailing to the cross. What caused Him to say, "let this cup pass from me," was not the physical pain, it was the total separation from God. It suggests to us that the horror of hell is not just the fire, as bad as that will be, but the absolute dread of being separated from God for all eternity. Christ did not confront His fear in the Garden. He confronted the forces of sin and darkness, and in the greatest example of humility, surrendered His will to the plan He well knew and had come purposely to carry out.
Obama continued. " So it is only because Jesus conquered his own anguish, conquered his fear, that we're able to celebrate the resurrection." No, Jesus didn't conquer anguish or fear. The reason we celebrate the resurrection is because Christ rose bodily by His own power from the tomb. Christians celebrate what no other religion in the world celebrates; a living Savior who conquered death (I Cor. 15:3, 4; 54-57). And because He conquered death, He has the power to give eternal life to all who repent of their sins and put their faith in Him alone for salvation.
The next statement Obama made is just strange enough to make one wonder whether he really believes in the bodily resurrection of Christ at all. He said, "It's only because he endured unimaginable pain that wracked his body and bore the sins of the world that he burdened -- that burdened his soul that we are able to proclaim he is risen." "Bore the sins of the world" is correct, but the reason we proclaim He is risen is not because He suffered. Yes, He suffered in our place, the Just for the unjust (I Peter 3:18), to pay the penalty for our sins, a debt that we could never pay. But we proclaim He is risen for one reason; He is risen as He said (Matt. 28:6).
Obama finished by saying, "We all have experiences that shake our faith. There are times where we have questions for God's plan relative to us. But that's precisely when we should remember Christ's own doubts and eventually his own triumph." It is true that we will go through testing times, and probably more often than not we will be tempted to complain or to question God. The answer is not to remember Christ's doubts. There are none to remember.
Neither is it to remember His eventual triumph. Christ didn't go through testings and trials or through doubts and fears, He didn't experiment with different methods or occupations, or endure through failures to finally emerge triumphant. His life, His death, and His resurrection were all a triumph from beginning to end.
In the beginning Christ triumphantly created the heavens and the earth (Col. 1:16, 17). When Adam sinned Christ triumphantly declared there would be a Savior (Genesis 3:15). When Jesus was born angels triumphantly announced His birth (Luke 2:9-14). When the Pharisees questioned Him, Jesus triumphantly declared His deity (John 8:58). When the soldiers came to take Him in the Garden, Jesus triumphantly declared, "I am He," and the force of His words knocked the soldiers to the ground (John 18:3-6). When the debt of sin had been paid, Christ on the cross triumphantly declared, "It is finished," and triumphantly yielded up His spirit (John 19:30). They didn't take His life, He gave it up when He was ready (John 10:17, 18). Then He rose triumphant from the grave even as He said He would (Matt. 28:6, Luke 24:6). He ascended back to heaven in triumph (Acts 1:9). When He comes again He will come triumphantly as a conquering Hero (Rev 19:16).
To be sure, I prefer the triumphant Savior of the Bible to the doubting, fearful Jesus of Obama theology. It does illustrate, however, how far our nation has come from its roots. Our Founding Fathers honored the Word of God and gloriously declared the truths of Jesus Christ. Our current Koran loving president is barely able to articulate anything coherent about Him. It also points out the desperate need of our country for the Savior, and the great need of our prayers for our leaders. As we pray for the salvation of lost souls in our Resurrection Sunday services, let us not forget to pray for the Obama family, our Senators and Representatives, Supreme Court Justices, and all elected officials. There is only one Triumphant Savior, Jesus Christ, and they all need to know Him.

Learning From Lincoln
In the deep south primaries last week Newt Gingrich needed to score a knock-out blow to see his campaign surge a third time to the top of the Republican leader board. His second place finishes in both Mississippi and Alabama, while admirable considering his lack of funds, were not enough and he has reached his "ebb tide." He is promising to continue on with a stated purpose of drawing enough votes away from Mitt Romney to prevent him from winning the required 1144 delegates prior to the August Republican convention. That is probably going to be more self-serving than it is helpful.
Ron Paul had some impressive second place finishes early in the campaign, but he has also played out. He isn't quitting, however, even though he is largely ignored as a serious candidate by everyone else. His supporters haven't given up either, but one has to wonder what their purpose is after the Missouri caucuses last Saturday. Ron Paul supporters were so rowdy that in one location some of them were arrested, and in many meetings they shouted down speakers and made such a disturbance that an intelligent discussion of the issues wasn't possible. Conservatives and Tea-Partiers were disgusted that they were unable to get their proposals into the debate. One has to wonder if the Ron Paul campaign has taken to implementing Occupy Wall Street strategies. So much for their conservative credentials.
That leaves Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney as the only two credible candidates left in the race. Santorum's victories in Mississippi and Alabama gave him momentum heading into the Illinois primary this week, but his hopes for a dash to the front were ended by a decisive Romney win. It is worth pointing out that between Santorum and Gingrich they beat Romney by more than a 2-1 margin in the southern states, but exit polls showed that Gingrich's supporters were evenly divided between Romney and Santorum as an alternate candidate, which does not bode well for Santorum. Romney's win in Illinois clearly puts him in the driver's seat.
In the meantime, at a fundraiser in Chicago last week, Obama mocked the Republican candidates. "Welcome to the Land of Lincoln," he said. "Maybe some of Lincoln will rub off on them while they are here." Actually, I'd be happy if some of Lincoln rubbed off on Obama.
Some of Lincoln like honesty. Lincoln was known as a man of his word, a man so honest that he would walk miles to return a borrowed nickel. Even his political enemies acknowledged his truthfulness. Obama promised to give us the most transparent administration in history, but it has been so un-transparent that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee gave it only a C- grade, and that only because small government agencies have been cooperative. Major cabinet level departments, Interior, Commerce, Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) were given failing grades. The Department of Justice has delayed turning over documents time and again in the investigation into the Fast and Furious debacle.
Obama himself has lied about his healthcare plan, abortion, gay rights, oil and natural gas drilling, the state of the economy; just about every time he opens his mouth.
Some of Lincoln like a knowledge of American history, the Christian influence of our Founding Fathers, and love of country. Lincoln knew well America's history and its founding documents, and was well able to articulate his mandate from the Constitution to preserve the Union. He also acknowledged the Christian God in every facet of American life, quoted Scripture frequently, and called America to days of prayer and Thanksgiving for God's aid and blessings.
Obama's ignorance of our history and hatred for our country was never more apparent than during his several apology tours and his denial of our Christian heritage. He has refused to participate in days of prayer and has insisted that Christian symbols be covered up when he speaks, but has been quick to honor Ramadan and quote the Koran. His suggestion that Muslims had anything at all to do with building America was so far off the wall he should have been laughed back into the first grade.
Some of Lincoln like respect for the Constitution and the rule of law. I know, I know. Lincoln is often accused of trashing the Constitution because he denied constitutional rights to several subversive citizens like Clement Vallandigham during the Civil War, and of laying the foundation for the big government we have today. The truth is, the Constitution allows for the suspension of Habeus Corpus during times of national crisis. I can't think of a greater national crisis than a civil war, and I hardly believe Lincoln had any idea how big and corrupt the government would become by his saving of the Union.
Obama, on the other hand, last Friday signed an executive order giving the president control over the entire US economy and all its resources in times of emergency. He has set himself up to become a dictator if he can get away with it, something neither the Founders nor Lincoln ever envisioned.
Some of Lincoln like a belief in the equality of all men. Lincoln believed that when the Declaration of Independence said "all men are created equal," it meant black as well as white. He saw slavery as a crime and a blight, and used the opportunity of the Civil War that the South brought on itself to end slavery. Then "with malice toward none, with charity for all," he set about to reunite the nation.
Obama has used class warfare and racism to divide the country as it hasn't been divided since the Civil War. Yes, there is a lot that the Republican candidates could learn from Lincoln; things like civility in public debate and working toward a common goal for the good of the country (no matter who wins the nomination). There is a lot more the current usurper of the office of the presidency could learn. It's a shame that he won't. It will be a bigger shame if America doesn't turn him out in November.

I'm Sorry
Two of the most important words in relationships are the simple words, "I'm sorry." The ability of one to be humble and apologize, even if one doesn't think he or she is wrong, has probably saved more marriages and friendships than could ever be counted.
International politics, however, is another story. Apologizing to recalcitrant nations, especially those with islamic foundations who hate you for no other reason than that you're alive, is not a particularly effective strategy. As Captain Nathan Brittles (John Wayne) in She Wore a Yellow Ribbon would say, "Never apologize, Mr. Pennell. It's a sign of weakness."
Still, the "anointed one" in the White House seems to think it's a good policy, and you can't be a "messiah" without being omniscient. The WHO (White House Occupant, like the OWS [Occupy Wall Street] that he supports) told us he would persuade the Iranians to be our friends through diplomacy. His plan of persuasion has been to apologize to the Muslim world for all of America's sins, but since that plan hasn't brought Iran (or anybody else for that matter) to the table yet, I thought I'd help him with a few more American sins that he can apologize for.

That the Pilgrims came to America seeking religious freedom and built a nation out of a wilderness, then opened their arms to allow the rest of the world to come join them.
That the Pilgrims, in the manner of friendly neighbors, invited the Indians to join them for a day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God for His mercy and sustenance.
That when the settlers met the illiterate Indian tribes they created written languages and then taught the Indians how to read and write.
That Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, the greatest political document on freedom that the world has ever seen.
That American Patriots stood up to the British Crown and won independence from tyranny, setting the stage for independence movements to follow throughout the European colonial world.

That America's need for oil has given oil-rich Middle Eastern Muslim nations wealth they could never have achieved on their own and without the help of American oil companies finding the oil and building the facilities to extract and refine it in the first place.
That a benevolent American government gives billions of dollars in foreign aid every year to 160 nations around the world, including Muslim nations.
That American forces ridded the world of Saddam Hussein who was an enemy to even his own people, not to mention to his Muslim neighbor nations, and after rebuilding the nation with a democratic government brought all our forces home, leaving an independent Iraq.
That American forces drove the Taliban out of Afghanistan and rebuilt the country to include women's rights, and schools which allow girls to learn to read and write for the first time.
That American retaliation for 9/11 has virtually destroyed Al-qaeda and rid the world of Osama bin-Laden, whose terrorist organization has killed tens of thousands more Muslims than it has Americans.
That American inventors have created steel plows, electric light bulbs, telegraphs, telephones, wireless radios, combustible engines, tractors, vehicles, airplanes, rockets, anesthetics, penicillin, polio and small pox vaccinations, refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, computers, the internet, and you name it, all of which have revolutionized the world's ability to produce and distribute product, and make life better, not just for Americans, but for people everywhere.
That American charitable organizations such as the Peace Corps have dug wells and taught millions of people around the world how to farm and survive in harsh environments.
That independent and private American mission groups through the voluntary giving of average Americans have built churches, schools, hospitals, and medical clinics serving millions more.
That American grain feeds most of the world and that it is American organizations leading the effort to fight poverty and starvation world wide.
That an American aircraft carrier was the first on the scene to provide fresh water, food and medicine to the refugees of the Indian Ocean tsunami that killed 230,000 people in 2005, and that in spite of criticisms from the Muslim world that America didn't do enough, the United States gave hundreds of millions of dollars in aid while Muslim Saudi Arabia gave a paltry ten million, and most other Muslim nations gave nothing.
That Americans are so arrogant as to believe that a peaceful, free world is a better place than one scarred by war, terrorism, enslavement and tyranny.
That Americans respect women and give them equal opportunities to achieve and be successful in whatever endeavor they choose rather than treating them like chattel or second class citizens unworthy of education and freedom the way Muslims do.
That the goodness of Christian America is such an offense to selfish, greedy, evil nations who take our foreign aid and hate us at the same time. Oh, I forgot, we're not Christian anymore, and maybe never have been according to the WHO.
Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry.
International politics, however, is another story. Apologizing to recalcitrant nations, especially those with islamic foundations who hate you for no other reason than that you're alive, is not a particularly effective strategy. As Captain Nathan Brittles (John Wayne) in She Wore a Yellow Ribbon would say, "Never apologize, Mr. Pennell. It's a sign of weakness."
Still, the "anointed one" in the White House seems to think it's a good policy, and you can't be a "messiah" without being omniscient. The WHO (White House Occupant, like the OWS [Occupy Wall Street] that he supports) told us he would persuade the Iranians to be our friends through diplomacy. His plan of persuasion has been to apologize to the Muslim world for all of America's sins, but since that plan hasn't brought Iran (or anybody else for that matter) to the table yet, I thought I'd help him with a few more American sins that he can apologize for.

That the Pilgrims came to America seeking religious freedom and built a nation out of a wilderness, then opened their arms to allow the rest of the world to come join them.
That the Pilgrims, in the manner of friendly neighbors, invited the Indians to join them for a day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God for His mercy and sustenance.
That when the settlers met the illiterate Indian tribes they created written languages and then taught the Indians how to read and write.
